Created by Vania Boediman & Nabila Justianto This semester, HIFF (Hawaii International Film Festival) screened some of the international movies. The executive director of HIFF, Robert Lambeth, came to our class and told us about his 33 years of career in the movie industry. He moved back to Hawaii from London because he wanted to help developing this HIFF. His background is music business, and 15 years in finance. He also gave us free tickets to see a movie at this spring showcase of HIFF. He said that some of the movie makers are creative young adults and he wanted us to be inspired. He said that HIFF are more known to the internationals than the locals. He traveled around the world and many countries wanted to join the HIFF. A lot of movie critics bring a lot of audiences and make them interested in the HIFF. HIFF’s goal is not to market the festival, but to educate and inspire young people in the world. His words on the HIFF's website: “It is an honor for me to be part of such an extraordinary organization and I am very grateful for the overwhelming support I’ve received from the HIFF Board of Directors and from previous Executive Directors Chuck Boller and Jeannette Paulson. Thanks to their great leadership, for over 33 years HIFF has made a vital and tangible difference to the lives of so many in our Hawai’i Ohana. I look forward to building on that worthy legacy and I’m truly excited about HIFF’s future potential.”
